Target would be the best bet in PTC.
If I could give Monsoon more than five stars, I most certainly would. I live in east Ocean View, and happily travel through a tunnel to get the best Indian food in Hampton Roads. In fact, the best I've ever had anywhere. My kids asked me what I wanted for Mother's Day, and I said without hesitation, Monsoon takeout. Great service, ample portions, perfect spices and heat (or lack thereof) exactly as we all order. THE BEST!
The food is delicious!! And the service is very friendly. My first time trying Indian food and I loved it!!
Lunch service was quick and the chicken curry was great at a number 3 spice level.
I really want to keep this place to myself but it wouldn't do G and his staff any favors. If you like lagers go now and order this beer. As you walk up to the entrance, one starts to smell all the spices. You can almost taste the air as you walk up. Don't worry the food doesn't have to be spicey. You can choose mild to hot. Me being mild...one doesn't lose any of the flavor. The lamb and mixed grill are amazing. If you don't know what you like, ask G and he will recommend a dish that will leave you astonished.
We pretty much get the same meal when we come here - the Masaledar Lamb Chops. We enjoy the food but we simply cannot understand why it takes so long to take our order. It has happened every time we've come here. I'm here right now and there are only 3 other tables seated...yet we still had to wait several minutes (with our menus closed) before our order was taken. We'll continue to enjoy the food but hopefully it isn't crowded when we decide to stop by.
Always great food and attentive service. Try the black pepper Tikka off of the special lunch menu!
When we went into the restaurant; there were 5 servers standing there staring at us. No one spoke, until I said hello. I asked and was given a menu right away, but I didn't feel comfortable in that restaurant. My brother had eaten there before and decided that he wanted to eat there again, although I was very hesitant. When an Indian man came into the restaurant; he was greeted and assisted right away. We weren't greeted the same way.Although the food was good; I won't return to this restaurant.
Good drinks. Great samosas. Great service. Nothing to complain about!
Came here with a small group of co-workers for lunch. First let me say that this is not a quick place to grab food. The food comes out relatively slowly and the service isn't particularly quick. Having said that the food is worth the the wait as it is very good. Their lunch special is on the expensive side but you get a lot of food including an appetizer, lots of naan and rice along with your entree. Service is alright, our waiter made three separate mistakes during our visit but was apologetic about the situation. Overall this is a good choice for Indian food in the local area, and probably the best location and interior decor of any of their competitors.
Delicious chicken masala but I got a stomach ache after that dinner!
Very polite people very nice and accommodating. Willing to help people understand the menu. A very good experience!
The food was so delicious. I got the lamb and it was so tender! The atmosphere is quiet and great for talking. Our waiter made some recommendations based on our cravings and he was right on. We will definitely be back.
The food was absolutely some of the best I've had. The Lasooni Gobi is a must try! And it's vegan. Chana Masala was excellent as well as the Naan. The staff were friendly and offered suggestions. Clean place
The food is delicious. Best Indian food in Hampton Roads. The service is fast and attentive, our water never got below half full.
I'm fairly new to the area and I always make it a priority to hunt down the best Indian restaurant nearby. Monsoon was the first attempt and it could possibly be the last. Food was delicious and the location is great, very close to shopping and a movie theater around the corner. My only complaint is that they do not offer cheese naan bread, they have a lot of naan options, just not cheese naan. I'll definitely be returning when Indian cuisine is on the menu.
Cool experience. We weren't too thrilled with the waiter and the service wasn't that good. However, the food...delicious. No doubt about it.
Awesome vegan options! Two organic veggie dishes too. Flavors terrific. I couldn't believe I was in Hampton, this place stands out. Service is attentive.
Their food is addictive, but sometimes their spiciness levels aren't consistent between visits. That's my only complaint. If I ask for a level 5 Indian level spicy, I want it to not only taste flavourful, but I want that heat on my tongue too, and I want it every time I go there, not just sometimes. As I said though, their food always tastes great, no matter how spicy you like it.
Good Indian food. Unique flavor vs other Indian restaurants I have tried. Lots of options for vegan and vegetarian dishes
The food is yummy. The service is eh. I ordered a sprite and it never came. I asked for a box and the check. Im not sure if she forgot or not but it took 20 mins. There was only 2 others in there besides us.
Another great meal. The Valentine's Day special looked awesome.
Went there for Valentines Day and had really good food as always. I reccomend the Chicken Vindaloo when you go there. Make sure you're kind to your waiters!
I've had Indian food in five different countries and I do believe Monsoon has been the best so far. The service was great, the food was great, and the prices reasonably match the quality of the food. I'll be returning often to try more of the menu.
Best biryani I had on the peninsula. Huge portion but not cheap. Their butter chicken was the same.Oh, and it's halal too.
The staff was friendly and did well handling our large group of 25+. The food was delicious. Great private party room!
The food is very good, especially if you like spicy food. Nice clean, relaxed restaurant. Great atmosphere.
Great food and service. I believe they give you more rice upon request more of a table buffet feel.If you are west Indian or Indian you will love the food!
This is hands down the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to. Incredible food, amazing service, takeout option if you want it, just be sure to check your order before leaving if you do takeout. One the pricier side, but it is 100% worth it for the quality of the food, the service, and the atmosphere. Been here many times over because of it.
The flavor was definitely there, delicious chicken tikka masala but the salmon korma had a taste that the skin was still on like a strong fish taste. This can come from different reasons but the sauces are very oily as well. The naan is fresh and filling and the staff are nice and professional. We will be back to try again!
Do not order online from them, your personal information isn't safe. They require you give them a phone number upfront. Sure enough, now I'm get sex-ad spam only a few hours after they close.
Great food and service! Definitely a new favorite for me and my family.
Really great food, very good flavors and certainly the best Indian cuisine we have enjoyed since being in the USA. Our server was lovely and she took time to take our order ensuring we got the spice level we required. She even had the kitchen cook us a plain paratha bread that was not on the menu.To top it off at the end of the meal I was presented with a slice of birthday cake - (I think my wife was discussing my birthday when we were being served), what a lovely end to a great lunch. This is our second visit and it has been perfect on both occasions.Recommended
Outstanding food was awesome very modern classy electric feel
I ordered not takeout and it did not come with any napkins or utensils. The portions were very small, which for $13-15 per meal, I expected more than 1 1/2 cups of curry. ☹️
The food here is PHENOMENAL!! Wow, I have eaten delicious food from all around the world, but the food at Monsoon is on another level!! So thrilled I found this place and cannot wait to go back! 10/10 would recommend!!
Monsoon is an excellent authentic Indian restaurant, with a relaxing atmosphere and prompt courteous service. They have an updated vegan menu with a wide array of options.
Monsoon is an incredible dining experience. The food is fresh, well prepared and absolutely delicious. Guru is an awesome host that enjoys taking time to describe the dishes the restaurant serves. This place should definitely be on every foody's list!
Fantastic dining experience. The authentic Indian food 🥘 was nothing short of amazing. It is worth the drive!
Best Indian food in the area. My son loves coming here. Would recommend.
This is my first time trying Indian Style cuisine and I must say it is DEFINITELY DELICIOUS! I ordered my food thru DoorDash and it was great. The portion sizes is great and the food is especially great. I would definitely try other dishes from here for sure! 10 thumbs up! 🔥😊
The for was very good, from appetizer to dessert. The prices were relatively high compared to other Indian places, but the quality was very good, and the dining area was spacious. Overall, I would say it makes a good place for a date night, or to impress friends that you are in to ethnic food. The only real down side is that the kitchen is easily overwhelmed. It was full when we were there, with one somewhat large party. Consequently, there wait was very long for our food.
Food and service were outstanding. The bathroom wall needs cleaning, as there is gunk under the hand dryer. Overall can't wait to go back.
Fantastic atmosphere, incredible staff, and delicious food every time! Lots of vegan and vegetarian options.
I liked the taste of everything I had. Though I had to order everything separate, so it got pricey at the end. The lunch specials may be better priced and come with things, however they did not have the Korma as a lunch selection. I'll be back to try some other things.
If you haven't been to the best new indian restaurant in Hampton, VA....WHATRE YOU WAITING FOR!!
We enjoy authentic Indian food. This place did not disappoint. We especially like the naan variety basket, tandoori chicken, and tiki Marsala... The staff is attentive and I always get the Indian beer.
Good food. Spiciness seems to vary (sometimes "Indian hot" hurts and sometimes it's bland). Be prepared to spend a bit of time there. Food is prepared by order so takes time. Service leaves a bit to be desired. Better than their Saffron locations in Norfolk and Virginia Beach.
Clean modern Indian food with great presentation. The food was fresh and didn't take too long to bring to us. The Garlic Naan is fantastic. Have a lot of American and some Indian beers. Great location in a big mall/food area.
